5 Cool Ways To Get Ready For Halloween

So if you haven’t guessed it by now, we’re THAT family. You know the one. Every holiday is fully on display on the outside and the inside of the house….& yes, each holiday actually starts the month before.

Hey, we like to celebrate stuff. Holidays, birthdays, Tuesdays…, any occasion really. We’ll find a reason to break out partyware just because.

We are on Holiday Everyday…so Celebrate Accordingly!

It should be no surprise that we stretch out these occasions to the fullest. We start the Halloween countdown on October 1st and have our scary movies and décor at the ready on Sept 30th.

We break out the Easter pastels well before the first full moon of spring, and even that pesky Lil leprechaun and St. Patrick get their full shine during March.

The month of June will properly get a Juneteenth celebration leading into an entire two-week festival for July 4th, and yes the Christmas Tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving….properly.

So as you can see, prepping for the holidays and celebrations is a continuous funfest for us.

Is It A Pumpkin Or A Cat?!?!

Here are some cool Halloween tips and tricks you can use to get in the full spirit of Halloween and have a Spook-Tacular Month!

  1. Have a Scary Movie Fright Fest!!
I’m Too Scared To Move…

Now this one is subjective. Everyone may have different ideas of what’s frightening, so as a family we create a list.

Everyone adds about 5-10 movies that they would love to watch. Depending on age, some may not be appropriate, so parents, you must be the judge of what everyone can handle.

There are lots of movies out there that are kid-friendly yet spooky, a couple of our family-friendly favs are Disney’s Twitches series and The Haunted Mansion!!

These are delightful and entertaining for all ages.

  1. Grab Your Bale Of Hay & Decorate – Proper Like

Creating a cool vibe can instantly set the scene and put you in a more festive mood.

It does not have to be costly either. Hit the thrift store and grab all the decorations you like! Add a couple of pumpkins here and there (even if they are plastic) and get into it.

  1. Get Everyone Involved

No one likes a party-pooper.

Create a theme for the family and let everyone play their role. You don’t have to wait for the 31st.

Create characters and try your best to hold to them throughout the month. This is such a fun and creative way to let out your inner drama king and queen.

  1. Get Your Campfire Vibe Going

You don’t need an actual campfire to set the scene.

S’mores can be made over the stove or on the grill – if you can’t actually go camping. Pick a night where everyone dresses up, and then gather together without electronics and share your spookiest stories!

Let the kids, get in on the action and see who comes up with the scariest story. Trust us, it will be one of the most entertaining, yet funniest nights you’ll spend together.
