Longboat Key, Florida Longboat Key is a town in Manatee and Sarasota counties along the central west coast of Florida. Longboat lies between Anna Maria Island and Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. It was incorporated in 1955 and continues to grow and thrive as a sleepy, sunny, quaint resort town for tourists,  and a beautiful place for residents to call home.
