Holiday Rising would love to shine a spotlight on Amazing Artist Carlotta Wilson
It’s always refreshing to walk into someone’s home and see new and unique items decorating their walls, and when you ask, “This is beautiful, Where did you get it, they say”/ It’s an original, I designed this myself or I took the shot”.
After moving yet again, this time to beautiful Colorado, I was overjoyed to receive our beautiful oil canvass painted by Carlotta Wilson. Fortunately she also is family. I was so moved and enthralled with her canvass that I knew it was the perfect statement piece above our fireplace. She so elegantly captured what a quiet walk with nature feels like for me. Because I am an avid walker and hiker, it simply tugged at my soul. Now every time I look at it, not only do I feel like I am in my special zone and at peace, but I have a deep sense of pride that our cousin is so incredibly talented. It’s a win/win. I feel as though it serves as so more than just visual décor. If you would like the opportunity to browse and support her work please head to an Art Gallery near you or check out Fine Art America online, where her work can be viewed and purchased.
Another way to add a pop of your family flair to your home decor is to incorporate your actual travels or hobbies into the life of your home. A couple of ways you can make your home stand out and not look straight off of the ikea assembly line…(Although I love Ikea and there is nothing wrong with Swiss goods) is to take photographs yourself and then have them turned into canvas art. This is a surefire way to help add a little spice to your walls.
I love hiking and grabbing shots of nature when traveling or on local trails near my home. Turning these into wall art was a great way for me to add a little of me and my view on life to the house.
