Look no further for a compelling summer bevy that will please all of your guests and beat the heat! The first time we tried this tasty delight was in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and of course, we came home and recreated it with our Loft Kitchen twist.

First, am I wrong, or is this the hottest summer yet?! Now, don’t get it twisted I love the warmth on my skin, and any place that provides an opportunity to show skin but this seems a bit much of late.

No worries though, because I have the perfect drink to soothe those blistering days and keep your family and friends feeling chilled and satiated!! Try this Watermelon Fizz recipe and be delighted!

All you need is:

10 cups seedless cut Watermelon cubes

1 bunch of Mint leaves

1 lime

1/2 Teaspoon of ginger or lemon juice

1 cup of ice

1/2 cup of either Pellegrino sparkling water or Sprite

  • * For an adult twist on this delicious drink, substitute the sparkling water or sprite with Tito’s Vodka

All you need to do is:

First, cut up a whole seedless watermelon into cubes, (should produce about 10 -12 cups)

Next, place in a blender to create the watermelon juice.

Add in the ginger or lemon juice, ice, and either sparkling water or Sprite and mix in a blender.

To finish, take your lime, and cut it into slices for garnish on the side of the glass and top with mint leaves.
