Panama City is not just for Spring Breakers anymore!!!
Inspired by travels to Panama City, Florida. Many years ago while taking a RV trip down from Michigan to Key West Florida for a Christmas vacation, we stopped in a small little town on the Gulf that offered so much unexpected charm and beauty that my Dad claimed right then and there that we could stay right here and not continue on down south to our destination of Key West. It was a chilly 58 degrees (which seemed like a heatwave compared to the Michigan air we had just escaped days before) and he proceeded to dive right in the beautiful cool waves. I had to admit, from that moment…

It’s Bubblin in Dublin
A Visit To The Green Isle We here at Holiday Rising understand the meaning of tourist trap. There have definitely been a few things along the way that afterwards, we felt like really weren’t worth it. It happens. That being said, sometimes tourist traps can be worth it. Sometimes you can over think things, and try to “Be like the locals,” but you wind up missing some of those experiences that truly impress what the culture is, and miss out on a fun experience. There is a reason they are tourist traps in the first place, right? We always try to get a good mix of local knowledge, and tourist…

The Amazing African American Museum of History
Washington D.C. Words can’t express what an amazing time we had at this museum in D.C. Emotions ran the gamut from high to low, but every single one hitting a direct and profound button inside each of us. After talking about our experience at the end of the day in the museum cafeteria, each of us were left with different experiences and takes on the day. But all of us were moved to a point nearing tears. Of course, it is impossible to wrap up the sum of the African American/Black experience in one building in one outing, however we must say that the totality of everything inside this beautifully…

Disney World Appreciation!
When You Wish Upon A Star…. For years now…oh, and we mean MANY years, (over 40), we’ve been blessed with the ability to go to the fabulous magical land of Disney World in Lake Buena Vista Florida. Our family was even among the very first to ever grace the grounds in their inaugural year. We certainly adopt all of the fascinations, childlike nuances, and excitement every time we go back. Heck, we even moved to Orlando just so we could become Annual Pass Holders. The sheer joy of watching a child’s expression when they experience it for the first time is something that fills your heart with glee. It is…

Volcano National Park, Hawai’i
If you are traveling to Hawaii, you are obviously in for a long trip. It’s a good thing they haven’t built the bridge yet as it seems it might be a long drive. Also, it’s not closer to Japan than California – in case that needed to be cleared up. If you are going to commit to making the long commute, the best thing you can do is give yourself plenty of time to visit every island. Each island has its own feel, and each one is totally unique from all the others. Really, you can spend an entire vacation on each island if you wanted but then you are…
