This Quick Getaway spotlight vacation is none other than Disney World for Floridians!!!

Okay, those of you who have been following us for years now, know that Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista Florida is our go-to trip that along with changing other spots up remains an annual staple. For the last 40 years, our families have been planning year-long summer getaways that consist of grandparents and parents taking us kids and now we are all taking our kids for years now. Along the way, we have grown tremendously as a family and our needs have changed as well.

There have been times when we felt more outdoorsy and stayed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness where we were able to get our extreme glamping on in a wonderful modern rustic chic cottage.

Then there were times when we felt that just being on Disney grounds and enjoying all of the transportation efficiency was necessary so several times we stayed at either Pop Century or Pop Sports Resorts (Staying here also helped us save a pretty penny) trust me, you will find other ways to drop a dime in in the parks!

Other times we have had a few more coins in the budget and stayed for longer trips at resorts like the Contemporary, Coronado Springs, or The Swan.

While you truly can’t go wrong with any type of accommodation or park. If you have already done the 1 week long Disney trip where everything is regimented and you have to stick to a tight schedule to get everything in, I suggest a Disney Weekend or Mid Week summer excursion!!

Yup, Just a quick getaway to just one of the parks perhaps one day, then enjoy your hotel the next day along with the Amazing Disney Springs!!! This offers a perfect way to try all of the new attractions, restaurants and events that arise without spending too much time or money.

I have to share a little story that affirms why we love Disney as a whole in terms of the Magic. Earlier in the summer, we planned a stay and traveled to Disney World for our annual fun and adventure. For some reason or another, a few of the rides that we were dead set on riding were not available. At the end of our stay when asked for a survey and an honest opinion, I decided to share our truth. Which was, as Disney Loyalists, we were disappointed with the fact that due to a new queue system and a few technical difficulties we were not able to do everything we wanted.

And do you know what?! Not one week later, A wonderful Disney Guest Relations member reached out to us and offered our family of four complimentary tickets to come back and catch the rides we were not able to ride at Magic Kingdom and Epcot!!!! Wow, can you believe that? In today’s times, when huge corporations are plagued with badges of greed and out-of-touch efforts, truly did something that mattered! They just didn’t apologize, they did something about it and we are truly grateful!!!

In taking the time to travel back to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, we were able to relax and enjoy everything including attractions that we would have normally skipped because we were trying to pack in 4 parks in a certain amount of time. This way we can enjoy more restaurants and even spend a great deal of time at Disney Springs!!

So if you can get away for the weekend, just consider popping over to the Mouse instead of Miami, or Naples and you may be pleasantly surprised!!
