This Orange honey glazed salmon recipe is a nice switch up from our usual chicken or beef routine. But now that we are heading towards the end of summer, we are looking for a filling yet, delicious switch of main courses. We think you will enjoy this too! Try this recipe similar to the Honey Glazed Salmon offered at the Le Cellier Steakhouse at Epcot Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista Florida.

What you need:

  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds or half rounds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds for additional garnish

What you need to do:

  • Sprinkle blotted dry salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat the oil and butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the salmon on each side for 4-5 minutes or until cooked through (length of time will depend on the thickness of the fillets.
  • If using skin-on salmon, fry the side without the skin first). Transfer the salmon to a plate and set aside.

  • Add the garlic to the pan and cook for a minute. Add the orange juice, chicken broth, and white wine. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a steady simmer, and let the liquid reduce to nearly half. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer another minute until slightly thickened. Stir in the honey. Position the orange slices in the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Lightly dust the oranges and or fillets with finely chopped cilantro, Taste the sauce and add more salt, pepper or honey as desired. Position the salmon fillets in the pan, spoon the sauce over, and simmer for 1-2 minutes or until heated throughly. Serve immediately arranged with the orange slices and some sauce with sesame seeds spooned over the fillets
