Foccacia Bread Recipe
Inspired by our travel to San Francisco, California. The city’s heart often reveals itself in its legendary foods, and nowhere is that truer than at San Francisco’s beloved Liguria Bakery in North Beach. Their famous focaccia bread—pillowy, golden, generously kissed with rosemary and olive oil—is a bite of San Francisco’s rich Italian heritage and neighborhood warmth. Bringing that magic into our Loft Kitchen was a delicious way to bake a slice of the city’s soul right into our family’s gathering. Liguria Bakery’s Focaccia: A San Francisco Classic Liguria’s focaccia is more than just bread — it’s a tradition passed down through generations, light and airy inside with a crisp, olive oil-saturated…

Power Coffee & Conversation: How Simple Gatherings Fuel Connection, Creativity, and Community
(Featuring Sips Coffee & Cocktails on Longboat Key, FL) There’s something timeless about the act of gathering over coffee. It’s not just the warm steam rising from the mug, or even the bold aroma of beans freshly ground—it’s the way conversation begins to flow when hands are wrapped around a cup. Across cultures and centuries, coffeehouses have been catalysts for connection, from 17th-century Viennese cafés where philosophers debated ideas, to bustling New York diners where writers scribbled drafts, to modern coworking cafés where entrepreneurs sketch out the next big startup. But beyond history, there’s today—our families, friends, colleagues, parent groups, and neighbors. Sometimes what we need most isn’t another email…

Oatmeal Caramel White Chocolate Protein Cookies
Who knew that something as sweet and simple as cookies could turn our kitchen upside down and spark a culinary plot twist none of us saw coming? It all began when we discovered—much later than most parents might hope—that our boys had allergies to some of the most common and beloved ingredients: nuts, peanut butter, and sesame, to name a few. What started as a quiet realization quickly turned our home into a bustling test kitchen for tasty new traditions, where every recipe was questioned, and every ingredient double-checked. Suddenly, our usual go-to cookies—those rich, nutty bites filled with peanut butter or studded with chopped walnuts—were off the table. As…

Raising Kids On Our Kona Coffee Farm On The Big Island
Hawai’i (Big Island), Hawai’i. There are places in our lives that transcend geography — places that stop being coordinates on a map and turn into the chapters that define our hearts. For our family, Captain Cook, on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, was that magical place. We didn’t just move there. We rooted there. Our days wove into the hillsides of Hōnaunau — mornings perfumed with the faint jasmine-honey scent of coffee blossoms, afternoons wrapped in the soft warmth of the Kona sun, and evenings rich with the lullaby of coqui frogs. When we look back now, that time feels like a series of hand‑painted postcards: Ace’s bare feet kicking up red dirt…
